EMANUEL CAMEIRA
Licenciado em Sociologia pelo ISCTE-IUL, pós-graduado em Estudos Curatoriais pela Faculdade de Belas-Artes da Universidade de Lisboa e doutorado em Sociologia pelo ICS-UL. Professor Auxiliar Convidado no ISCTE-IUL. No âmbito do extinto Observatório das Actividades Culturais (OAC), integrou a equipa que realizou o Inquérito ao Sector do Livro (2007-2009), tendo também sido um dos investigadores que levou a cabo o projecto A leitura digital – transformação do incentivo à leitura e das instituições do livro (2011-2013). Em 2010 foi um dos curadores da exposição João César Monteiro, assim e não assado, tendo, em 2012, comissariado Fracções (para o espaço dos Artistas Unidos / Teatro da Politécnica, com obras de José Francisco Azevedo e Ruth Rosengarten). Nos últimos dois anos, foi um dos responsáveis pela realização da Feira Gráfica Lisboa – edições independentes e livros de artista, iniciativa apoiada pela Câmara Municipal de Lisboa. Recebeu, em 2018, o Prémio Victor de Sá de História Contemporânea, atribuído pela Universidade do Minho. Interessa-se, actualmente, pela área de estudos da sociologia do livro e da edição.

Degree in Sociology from ISCTE-IUL (University Institute of Lisbon), Postgraduation in Curatorial Studies from the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Lisbon, and PhD in Sociology from ICS-UL (University of Lisbon). Guest Assistant Professor at ISCTE-IUL. In the scope of the now extinct Observatory of Cultural Activities, he was a member of the team that realized the Enquiry to the Book Sector (2007-2009), having been also one of the researchers that carried out the project Digital reading - transformation of the incentive to reading and of book institutions (2011-13). In 2010 he was one of the curators of the exhibition João César Monteiro, assim e não assado, and, in 2012, he curated Fracções (for the space of Artistas Unidos / Teatro da Politécnica, with works by José Francisco Azevedo and Ruth Rosengarten). In the last two years he was co-responsible for the organization of Lisbon Graphic Fair – independent editions and artist books, supported by the Lisbon City Council. In 2018 he was awarded the Victor De Sá Contemporary History Prize, by the Minho University. Emanuel Cameira is presently interested in the research area of sociology of the book and publishing.
